The ITM University (formerly Institute of Technology and Management) was founded in 1996 as an engineering institute, to promote excellence in Technical and Management education by Educate India Society, registered under the Registration of Societies Act of 1860.
The institute gained the status of private university in the academic year 2009-10, and was renamed ITM University under section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956 and PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES ACT NO 25 OF 2009, Government of Haryana.

The University is located in Gurgaon, which is about 10 Kms. from Indira Gandhi International Airport. The campus is spread over an area of 10 acres of land in urban area. The faculties and Schools/Departments are well equipped as per norms and standards of the regulatory bodies. The Governing Body, Board ofManagement, Academic Council and other bodies of the University have been constituted and are functional. In keeping with the University’s mission, the campus has been designed and constructed bearing in mind aesthetics and the environment. It has been planned to provide facilities commensurate with a twenty first century Institute of higher learning, in an environment which enhances the learning process. The concept and design of the University has been provided by the Group for Rural and Urban Planning, led by the internationally acclaimed architect, Mr.Romi Khosla.
All the classrooms are spacious, well illuminated, air-conditioned and equipped with state - of - art multimedia teaching aids. A computer centre with more than 700 high end computers with a virtual lab has been established for giving access to students for computing facilities. The whole campus is wi-fi enabled.
The University has developed a first rate fully air-conditioned library which serves not only the University but the industrial community and research scholars around as well. Currently the library has a comprehensive collection of more than 50,000 books which is being continuously extended in line with the introduction of new courses. It also subscribes to an exhaustive list of national and international journals, periodicals and newspapers, encompassing all areas of Engineering, Management, Humanities and Law. Online access to international journals like IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), Science Direct is available.
High quality accommodation, separate for boys and girls, on a shared basis with clean and hygienic dining facilities is provided by the University. ITM University hostels expose students to a variety of people, values and experiences. There is probably no other time in ones life when you will live, work and study with so many other people. Living in a hostel will help students develop a sensitivity to those around them and learn consideration for one another as they will live and work together.
For all undergraduate engineering programs: 60% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry are required. Also the candidate has to appear for AIEEE which is an all India entrance test conducted by the CBSE annually in the month of april for the uptake of students in all the B.Tech Programs offered by the university. The students are then invited on all India rank basis for counselling where a student can select a program of his/her choice.

Candidate should have passed the 10+2 (English Medium) examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized board with an overall aggregate of 55%. Admission shall be made on the basis of merit determined on the basis of marks or grade obtained in the qualifying examination and personal interview. Weightage for each component will be specified in the APSP - 20XX on year to year basis.
Admission will be based on merit decided in the entrance examination,(CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ MAT/ ATMA),group discussion, personal interview and work experience (except children/ wards of NRI / Kashmiri Migrants /Foreign Nationals who will be admitted on the basis of qualifying examination or equivalent) as specified in the APSP - 20XX. ITM University provides a wealth of sporting opportunities that inculcate commitment, dedication and skill development. Students can achieve national recognition through intercollegiate fixtures, participate in a recreational sport for the first time; or take one of the many physical education courses. Involvement at any level is encouraged. All sporting facilities are regularly available for every one to use, accommodating students who enjoy structured participation and those who find a program of recreation and exercise most beneficial. The sporting and leisure facilities on campus are extensive. Sporting facilities include Cricket, Hockey, Soccer, Volley Ball, Badminton, Tennis and Table Tennis. An athletics track as well as a multipurpose sports arena and facilities for other indoor games is also available. Sports facilities have been upgraded with construction of Tennis, Squash and basketball courts. The university enjoys the distinction of providing students an opportunity to engage in games and sports in their flood lit stadium.
On any given day during the academic year the campus hosts a wide variety of activities including invited lectures, films, musical and cultural events and other special programmes. Most students are active in co-curricular pursuits in addition to their studies. The campus is enlivened by the number and diversity of its student organisations. An elaborate network of societies and organisations including the Literary Society, Music Society, Drama and Dance Society, Photography Club, Social Service Society, Professional Societies, Sports Society and Self Development Group provide opportunities for enjoyment and discovery of new interests and skills.
Collaborations has been made with many international Institutes such as Warwick University, Nanyang Technological University, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Pukyong National University, University of Leeds and Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown in terms of sharing expertise on curricula, teaching pedagogy, student projects, research & development, faculty & student exchange, expert lectures, twining programmes etc.
Faculty members at ITM University are sensitive to the academic and development needs of students; knowledgeable about the curriculum and requirements; accessible on a regular, predictable basis and concerned about their student’s welfare and development.
The faculty constitutes the core academic resource. Whilst their principle responsibility is teaching, members of the faculty also serve as consultants to the government, industry and other organizations. Aggregation of more than 177 full time faculty at ITM University with national and international teaching experience makes learning truly transformational.
The criteria for appointment, retention, tenure and promotion are designed to attract the highest caliber faculty, who continuously strive to enhance their knowledge and teaching effectiveness. The minimum 12 qualifications for various faculty positions comply or exceed the prescribed standards by University Grants Commission (UGC) / Bar Council of India (BCI). Besides its permanent faculty, eminent professors and subject experts from India and aboard are invited as a matter of routine to teach at ITM University.
The School of Management endeavours to provide the right inputs to its students in an environment where they can learn practical ways of applying management theory to benefit organizations in an ethical manner. The curriculum is designed to provide inputs in all fields of management knowledge with the flexibility to choose thier special field of interest. The student learns to apply this knowledge in all situations by using pedagogy suited to practical learning. The curriculum is constantly changed to include new fields of knowledge and the pedagogy is adapted to teach different subjects in the most appropriate manner. Summer internship and a major research project in the final semester are attempts to expose the student to real life situations and understand the rapidly increasing theoretical knowledge in this relatively young science.
There is a stress on holistic learning, entrepreneurship, and ethics. ITM University endeavours to create the business leaders of tomorrow - business leaders with a sense of values, ethics, and sensitive to the environment and to other human beings.
School of Law seeks to provide high quality legal education to face the new challenges and dimensions of the internationalization of legal profession. Their mission is to be ranked ‘numero uno’ amongst the premier law schools of the country. The innovatively conceived 5 year integrated B.B.A-LL.B. (Honours) Degree Program integrates the study of law with management in a trimester mode for enhancing the employability of their graduates. Since this course in Law is targeted specifically to fill the corporate needs, it is being combined with BBA so that the student gathers enough basic knowledge about business and its processes. The course consists of 12 courses of BBA and 48 courses of Law spread over five years. The large number of courses necessitates having a trimester system so that the students get adequate exposure to the vast knowledge necessary for performing well in industry. University offer a degree in Master of Laws (LLM).
To foster learning discovery and research, the University places great emphasis on sponsored and academic research. Faculty of the university have been awarded a variety of research projects by the Department of Science & Technology, Defence Research and Development Organization, All India Council of Technical Education, University Grants Commission and Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India and from other leading private organizations. Research awards are given to faculty of the University for publishing research papers in international journals and conferences and for authoring and publishing of textbooks. Faculty is regularly sponsored for conferences and seminars to keep abreast with the latest technologies. Our faculty is credited with publishing over 1100 research papers in journals of international repute. A large number of books have also been authored by them. Departments also publish their internal journals like Voyager - The Journal of Computer Science & Information Technology, Vani - Journal of Department of Applied Science and Humanities, Livewire - Journal of Department of EECE and Impulse - Journal of Department of Mechanical Engineering are regularly published.
ITM University has a vibrant 2000 strong alumni who are spread all across the country in leading Indian and multinational companies. Many of its students have gone abroad for higher education or have taken up employment there. ITM University organizes regular get togethers for its alumni to keep them rooted to their alma mater. As ambassadors of ITM University, well placed alumni assist the university in creating better employment prospects for our students. This also helps to improve the university’s visibility with the industry. An alumni newsletter is published to encourage networking among past and present students.
